POULTNEY — A 22-year-old man from Rutland City was arrested following an incident in Poultney yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of a juvenile who had been strangled at Main Street at around 7:25 p.m.
Police say Anthony Gaines strangled the juvenile causing pain and injury.
The juvenile was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Gaines was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland barracks.
He was issued conditions and ordered held without bail at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.
Police were assisted on scene by the Fair Haven Rescue Squad and the Rutland City Police Department.
