CRAFTSBURY — Jack Travelstead of Woodbury was recently chosen as the lucky winner of the Phil Pike handcrafted canoe raffled by the Craftsbury Community Care Center.

Artisan Phil Pike himself drew ticket #49 at Craftsbury’s Old Home Day.

Travelstead is a long-time supporter of the Care Center and says he is excited to take out the beautiful cedar canoe.

He told Care Center Board President Jane Marlin that he almost deleted the email notifying him of his prize.

“I almost deleted the email, thinking it was spam,” he said. “A friend who was at the event emailed me at the same time to say I think you won the canoe.”

Mr. Travelstead happily picked up his new canoe on Sunday.

Craftsbury Community Care Center provides critical residential support to elders of all economic abilities.

The center said they would like to thank everyone who generously participated in its second fundraiser of 2021.
