Poultney woman arrested after stabbing juvenile

POULTNEY — A 21-year-old woman was arrested for an aggravated assault following an incident in Poultney yesterday.

Authorities were notified of a stabbing incident that took place on Main Street at around 4:35 p.m.

According to the report, a juvenile had been stabbed in the parking lot of Stewarts. 

Following an investigation, police say Shania Goyette, of Poultney, stabbed a juvenile with a knife.

Police say the juvenile was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. 

Goyette was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland barracks. 

She was held at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.
