Man arrested for DUI #4 after crash in Shaftsbury

SHAFTSBURY — A 34-year-old man is facing charges for his fourth DUI following a crash in Shaftsbury yesterday.

Authorities were notified of a motor vehicle that had hit a set of guardrails while traveling north on Vermont Route 7a at around 9:40 p.m.

Police say the vehicle was located shortly after the initial report of the incident, as was

the driver, who was walking on Vermont Route 7a, examining the scene, at the intersection of Vermont Route 67. 

The driver was identified as Danny Main, of Shaftsbury.

During investigation, police say they suspected Main to be under the influence of drugs and began to conduct a DUI investigation. 

Main was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI-Drugs. 

Main’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Vermont was criminally suspended as well. 

He was later released with a citation to appear in court to answer to the charges of

DUI #4, and criminal DLS.
