5 teens injured during single-vehicle crash in Jay

JAY — Five teenagers were injured during a single-vehicle crash in Jay on Saturday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 105 at around 1:00 a.m.

The driver, a 17-year-old from St. Albans, was entrapped inside the vehicle.

Police say a 17-year-old passenger from Sheldon was in critical condition and transported by DHART to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.

All other passengers were transported to North County Hospital.

According to Trooper Logan Miller, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.

Trooper Miller says the driver is facing charges of grossly negligent operation and DUI Drugs.

All other passengers inside the vehicle were from St. Albans.
