BARTON — A 73-year-old man was injured during a motorcycle crash in Barton this afternoon.

The incident took place on Willoughby Avenue, near Center Road, at around 12:30 p.m.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as David Clancy, or Marlow, NH, failed to navigate a corner safely and collided with the guardrail.

Police say the motorcycle ultimately came to rest in the river down the embankment from the road.

The Orleans Fire Department Technical Rescue assisted in getting Clancy back up the embankment.

According to police, he sustained injuries to his legs during the crash and was transported to North Country Hospital where a Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team was expected to be called in.
