WILLIAMSTOWN — A 32-year-old man from South Barre was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Williamstown on Sunday.
Police say they observed a motor vehicle infraction on Vermont Route 14 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop at around 6:55 p.m.
The driver failed to pull his vehicle over and drove to High Street, police say, where he parked his vehicle in a driveway.
The driver was identified as Jonathan Ayers.
Following an investigation, police arrested Ayers for suspicion of DUI.
Police say his license was criminally suspended at the time of the stop.
Also, police say Ayers has court ordered conditions of release to not operate a motor vehicle, to not consume alcohol, and to submit to an Alco Sensor when requested to by a law enforcement officer, which he failed to do.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Middlesex State Police barracks for processing.
He was processed and released on a citation to appear in court for the charges of DUI #2, attempt to elude, criminal DLS, and violation of conditions of release.
