18-year-old arrested after firing gun during altercation in Lyndonville

LYNDONVILLE —  A 18-year-old man from St. Johnsbury was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following an incident in Lyndonville on Tuesday.

Authorities were notified that a group was yelling and screaming and then gunshots were heard on Charles Street at around 12:55 a.m.

Following an investigation, it was found that Cody Shatney had gotten into an altercation with the victims and discharged a firearm. 

Police say no one was injured as a result of the incident. 

The Caledonia State’s Attorney’s Office directed that the suspect be charged as an adult. 

Police say he was lodged for lack of bail.
