Police: Driver charged with DUI after hit-and-run in Derby

DERBY — Police say a 41-year-old man from Coventry is facing multiple charges following a crash that took place in Derby yesterday.

Authorities were alerted at 10:45 p.m. that a 28-year-old woman from Brighton was the victim of a hit-and-run crash on Vermont Route 105.

Police say a responding trooper managed to locate the vehicle that had fled the scene, and the driver was identified as Matthew Prue.

According to the report, Prue had been drinking alcohol and he was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

He is also being charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and negligent operation.

He was transported to the Derby barracks where he was processed and released with a citation.
