BARTON — A 28-year-old man from Connecticut was arrested on multiple charges following a hit-and-run crash in Barton on Thursday.

The two-vehicle crash took place on Church Street at around 1:50 p.m.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash left the scene and continued north on I-91.

Police initiated a traffic stop on Alexander Rostad, of Norfolk, CT, who they say was driving the vehicle involved in the crash.

Prior to Rostad being stopped, police say he was seen operating his vehicle in a careless and negligent manner.

Police say Rostad possessed a clear danger to himself and others and took him into custody.

Once at the barracks Rostad is alleged to have acted in a lewd and lascivious manner.

Police say Rostad’s behavior continued several times throughout the duration while at the barracks.

He was later transported to the Northern State Correctional Facility for the charges of lewd and lascivious conduct, leaving the scene of an accident, and careless and negligent operation.
