Morrisville man dies while cross-country skiing in Craftsbury

CRAFTSBURY — Authorities say a 67-year-old resident of Morrisville has died after suffering a medical event on a local trail in Craftsbury.

Emergency personnel responded to 535 Lost Nation Road at around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday to a report of an unresponsive male on a trail at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.

Police say the victim, identified as William Henchey, had been pronounced deceased after resuscitative efforts were initiated by EMS.

According to the report, Henchey suffered a medical event while out on a cross-country trail.

He was located afterward by a passerby, who initiated CPR and contacted emergency services.
