Police looking for driver after hit-and-run in Newport Center

NEWPORT CENTER — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a motorist who fled the scene of an accident in Newport Center yesterday.

The incident took place on Vermont Route 14 at around 5:30 p.m.

Michael Koehler, 36, of Newport, told police that someone hit his vehicle and drove off.

Koehler followed the vehicle and was able to get a picture of it.

The vehicle is a grey Chevrolet truck and police say the mirror was broken as a result of the crash.

Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has any information is being asked to contact police at 802-334-8881.
