Driver facing charges after DUI crash with injuries in Lowell

LOWELL — A 52-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges including DUI, following a crash in Lowell on Sunday.

The two-vehicle crash took place on Vermont Route 100 at around 4:51 p.m.

The drivers were identified as Brain Labarron, of Lowell, and Steven Greene, 66, of Hardwick.

According to the report, Labarron was headed north when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic while turning into the parking lot of the Lowell General Store.

Greene, who was headed south, hit Labarron in the southbound lane.

Police say a passenger in Greene’s vehicle reported minor injuries and was transported to Copley Hospital.

A passenger in Labarron’s vehicle also reported minor injuries and was transported to North Country Hospital.

While investigating the crash, police say Labarron exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Labarron’s license to operate a motor vehicle was criminally suspended and he was also under court-ordered conditions of release not to operate a motor vehicle or consume any alcoholic beverages.

He was transported to the Vermont State Police Derby barracks where he was processed and later released on a citation.

He was charged with DUI, driving with a criminally suspended license, and violation of conditions of release.
