Driver clocked at 119 mph on Vermont Route 100 in Lowell, charged with DUI #3

LOWELL — A 29-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested on multiple charges following an incident in Lowell on Sunday.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle clocked doing 119 miles-per-hour in a posted 50 miles-per-hour zone on Vermont Route 100 at around 6:45 p.m.

Police say the vehicle attempted to elude them but was located in a nearby driveway.

The driver was identified as Joseph Breen, who they say showed signs of impairment.

Breen was arrested for the charges of attempt to elude, DUI #3, grossly negligent operation, and excessive speed.

He was transported to the Derby State Police barracks for processing and lodged at North State Correctional Facility.
