Police: Lowell man attempted to run woman over, pointed gun at another and fired into the air

LOWELL — A 29-year-old man from Lowell is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly attempted to run someone over on their lawn, pointed a firearm at another individual, and fired the gun into the air.

Police say Edward Rose is being charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and negligent operation.

Authorities were notified at around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday that a man, later identified as Rose, was driving on Hazen Notch Road in Lowell and swerved his vehicle in the direction of a 40-year-old woman in her yard, attempting to hit her.

Police say he pointed a firearm at a 41-year-old male at the scene, and while driving his vehicle shot a handgun into the air.

Rose was stopped by police on Hazen Notch Road near Vermont Route 100 and taken into custody.

He was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail and is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
