Fatal crash in Morgan

MORGAN — A 59-year-old man from Morgan was killed during a single-vehicle crash on Friday.

Police say Gary MeGrath was traveling east on Vermont Route 111 in Morgan at around 10:00 p.m. when he crossed through the oncoming westbound lane of travel and veered off the roadway.

His vehicle struck a tree after leaving the road.

The collision occurred on the driver’s side, entrapping him inside.

MeGrath was extricated from the vehicle by Derby Line Fire Department members.

He was transported to North Country Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The Vermont State Police say they are still investigating the crash.
