BARTON — Police say a 56-year-old man from West Virginia was arrested for breaking into the C&C Supermarket just days after being arrested for DUI in the parking lot of the store.

An alarm was activated at the store in Barton at around 1 a.m. this morning.

The front glass doors were broken, and troopers cleared the store and found no one inside when they arrived.

The owner of the store showed troopers surveillance footage, and they immediately recognized the individual as someone who was cited in court earlier by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department.

After a brief search of the area, Robert Frank, 56, of Inwood, WV, was located and admitted to the burglary.

He was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail.

On Thursday, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department responded to the parking area of the C&C Supermarket for a report of a truck towing a camper trailer that had been involved in a minor collision.

The truck was reported to be stuck after it partially slid down an embankment.

While speaking with the driver, identified as Robert Frank, police say indicators of impairment were detected.

Frank was taken into custody and processed for DUI before later allegedly going back to break into the market.
