Driver injured after hitting deer in Brighton

BRIGHTON — A woman suffered minor injures after hitting a deer in Brighton on Wednesday night.

Emergency workers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 105 at around 9:30 p.m.

The driver was identified as 57-year-old Karen Oliviere, of Rangeley, Maine.

Police say Oliviere was traveling east when she struck a deer.

She sustained minor burns to her arms from the airbag deployment.

Ray’s Auto towed the vehicle, and Brighton Fire Department and Newport Ambulance also responded to assist.
