Driver charged with DUI after crashing into building in Orleans

ORLEANS — A 58-year-old man from Albany was arrested for suspicion of DUI after crashing into a building in Orleans on Friday night.

Police, along with Orleans EMS and Fire responded at around 8 p.m. after being notified of a single-vehicle crash on Cross Street.

The driver was identified as James Marcy.

Marcy reported losing control of the vehicle before crashing into a commercial building.

Police say he suffered an injury to his ankle but refused ambulance transport to the hospital.

The front seat passenger complained of non-life threatening injuries and was transported to North Country Hospital for precautions.

Police say Marcy exhibited signs of impairment and after an investigation was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

He was transported to the Derby Barracks for processing and later released on a citation.
