Crash with injuries in Irasburg

IRASBURG — Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash with injuries that took place in Irasburg.

At around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, crews responded to the scene on Vermont Route 58.

According to the report, 29-year-old Travis Shatney of Orleans lost control of his 2008 Subaru Legacy and slid into the oncoming lane of travel.

The vehicle collided with 83-year-old Merle Young, of Glover.

Both vehicles were totaled, and the drivers were taken to North Country Hospital and UVM Medical Center, for what the report describes as “non-life threatening injuries.”

Police say the crash is still under investigation at this time.
