HOLLAND — Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck involved in a high-speed chase near the Derby Line and Holland border on Saturday.
Troopers were on patrol on the Valley Road in Holland at around 6:00 p.m. when a pickup truck was observed traveling east on Valley Road from the Derby Line/Holland town line, near Twin Bridges Road.
Police say the truck was clocked at 93 MPH in the posted 50 MPH zone and was observed crossing the center line.
As the trooper turned around and activated his emergency lights and siren, the truck failed to stop and continued east on Valley Road at a high rate of speed, continuing to operate recklessly while passing other vehicles.
The trooper was eventually forced to reduce speed and discontinue for safety reasons and lost sight of the truck on Valley Road.
Police say a follow-up investigation is being conducted, and the vehicle is described as a new model GMC pickup truck, likely a 2016 Sierra 1500, dark in color.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the driver or the pickup truck, including those who may have witnessed the incident, are encouraged to contact VSP-Derby at (802) 334-8881.
Chalk one up for the bad guys.
