NEWPORT — Authorities say there is no new evidence in the search for the Westmore man who went missing last week.
So far this week, search and rescue workers have used K-9 teams to search the wooded areas around 47-year-old Christopher McCarthy’s residence in Westmore.
Officials say the search did not yield any new evidence or tips as to McCarthy’s whereabouts.
“Based on the circumstances of the case and the ongoing missing persons investigation, foul play is not suspected at this time,” a statement issued by police reads.
The Vermont State Police is urging the public to report any tips regarding the whereabouts of McCarthy.
With the start of hunting season in the next few days, officials are also asking hunters to report any suspicious items or circumstances that might assist in locating McCarthy.
The search will continue and police say resources will be distributed as necessary, based on the nature of tips that are received.
