Search underway for missing Westmore man

WESTMORE — Authorities say they have been looking for a missing Westmore man this weekend.

On Saturday evening police were advised by family members that 47-year-old Christopher McCarthy had not made contact with friends or family since Thursday.

Police responded to his residence and searched the immediate area and were unable to locate him.

Today, members of the Vermont State Police Search and Rescue team, Westmore Fire Department, Orleans Fire Department, Newark Fire Department, Sutton Fire Department, as well as family and friends searched for McCarthy in several locations where he was known to frequent. He was still not located.

“Search efforts will continue, though at this time all resources that will be utilized have been identified,” a statement issued by police reads.
