Newport Ambulance goes pink for breast cancer awareness

1 min read

NEWPORT — A few noticeable changes are going on during the month of October at Newport Ambulance Service.

Crews will be wearing pink shirts in support of breast cancer awareness.

“The crews will wear the shirts through the month to show our support for those that are fighting breast cancer, for those that have survived, and in support of finding a cure,” Michael Paradis, Executive Director of Newport Ambulance said.

The staff adopted this approach as Linda Glodgett, the wife of a staff member, is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Along with the emotional support, they are raffling off a kayak to help the family.

Also, as of October 1, they have put a new Type III Wheeled Coach Ambulance 2017 Chevy 35000 in service.

This new ambulance meets all the new standards for patient safety and care.
