Newport Center man killed in collision with tractor

NEWPORT — A 31-year-old man from Newport Center was killed in a two-vehicle crash this morning.

At 7:40 a.m. police responded to Bear Mountain Road near the intersection with Farrar Road.

Brent Amyot, 31, of Newport Center, was headed east on Bear Mountain Road, and Bradley StOnge, 22, of Newport, was heading west in a large John Deere Forage Harvester, police say.

Bear Mountain Road is a narrow dirt road, and the two vehicles collided.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, and Amyot was pronounced dead on scene due to injuries resulting from the crash.

Newport Center and North Troy Fire Departments responded to the scene along with Newport Ambulance.
