Police: Body recovery in Westmore possibly delayed until Thursday

WESTMORE — Officials involved in the Orleans missing person search effort are advising that the recovery process of the deceased individual discovered yesterday will be delayed, perhaps until Thursday.

According to a statement issued by police, the extreme nature of the terrain, the equipment, and expertise needed to access the area in which the individual is located will require other agencies to assist in the recovery.

“The individual is located approximately 300’ feet down a precipice, and 200’ feet up from the bottom of the drop-off, resting on a rock shelf,” Public Information Officer Scott Waterman said in his statement.

The Vermont State Police has requested officials with the Vermont National Guard and other technical experts to advise on the best process for recovery.

While positive ID has not yet occurred, the family of Tyler Robinson has been advised of the process underway to recover the individual.

Investigators have again said that they have no evidence or information to suspect foul play in this incident.
