WESTMORE — A 62-year-old man from Orleans died after he fell through the ice on Lake Willoughby this morning.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. police received a 911 call reporting a man had fallen through the ice in the area of Blueberry Point Lane in Westmore.
This occurred about 50 feet from shore.
The victim, identified as Richard Leblanc, was pulled from the water by rescue crews.
He was transported to North Country Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing, but there is nothing suspicious about the incident.
Leblanc’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.
