BARTON — Tony Pomerleau paid a surprise visit to St. Paul’s Catholic School in Barton on Wednesday, to drop off a check for $60,000.

Pomerleau, who said that he wanted to donate to the school because his brother and sister had gone there, was matching funds raised for the school’s 120th anniversary year.

The generous gift sparked other donations to come in.

Total amounts are still being tallied for the ongoing fundraiser that will continue through the school year.

St. Paul’s hopes to raise over $120,000 this year.
