MILTON — A North Troy man had a run-in with police over the weekend, after being clocked traveling in excess of 100 miles-per-hour in Milton.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Saturday evening after receiving multiple calls reporting that an erratic driver was swerving between lanes at a dangerous rate of speed on I-89 N. in Milton.

Police say they caught up to the speeding vehicle on the exit 19 off ramp in Saint Albans at approximately 7:07 p.m.

The driver was identified as Robert Carter, age 42, of North Troy.

Carter offered to give a breath test, which resulted in a BAC of .217, more than two times the legal limit.

He was arrested and faces DUI, gross careless, and negligent operation charges.

He was lodged at the NWCC on $5,000 bail and was due in court today to answer the charges.
