IRASBURG — A tractor trailer was involved in a single vehicle crash in Irasburg on Tuesday morning.

The accident took place on Vermont Route 14 at around 9:20 a.m.

Police say that the driver, Nicholas Cote, 35, of Coventry, was hauling water in the truck when he was forced to drive off the road to avoid colliding with another vehicle.

Cote told police that the other vehicle had stopped in the roadway attempting to turn, and that he had to intentionally steer the rig toward the embankment to avoid the crash.

Police say the accident is still under investigation, and that the truck, once back on the roadway, was able to be driven from the scene with only moderate damage.

There were no injuries during the incident.
