Police: Stolen vehicle crash near Barton-Brownington town line

siren_FotorBROWNINGTON — On Wednesday police reported a stolen vehicle crashed near the town line of Barton and Brownington early last week.

Police say that on February 15, at around 7:26 a.m., the Derby barracks received a call advising them that a truck was off the road, crashed into a sign along Route 58 in Barton.

When police arrived they located the truck, a blue, 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. There was nobody with the vehicle at the time. The truck had dents on both sides of the vehicle, both side windows were smashed, the windshield was cracked, and the frame was bent.

Police contacted the registered owner, and are saying that someone had taken the truck without permission sometime after 10 p.m., on February 14.

At the time the vehicle had been parked at 213 Stevens Road in Brownington.
