Police say Sasha Uran was traveling west on Route 111, when she started fishtailing after hitting a patch of black ice at around 11:27 a.m.

Derby Fire and Rescue, along with Derby and Newport Ambulances responded to the scene of the crash.

The fire department had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate Uran from the vehicle.

Uran was transported to North Country Hospital for what police are reporting as “serious injuries.”
