Woman taken to hospital after crash in Troy Sunday morning

car accident Troy VermontTROY — A 37-year-old woman from North Troy was taken to the hospital, and two cars were totaled following a crash in Troy this morning.

Police are saying that Amanda Chaput was taken to North Country Hospital to be evaluated for her injuries, after she was rear-ended at around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, at the intersection of Vermont Route 105 and Blais Road.

Police say that Chaput had stopped to make a left hand turn, when Olivia Howell, 24, of Newport, slammed into her vehicle.

The impact of the collision was strong enough to cause the trunk of the vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Stratus, to be pushed into the rear seat.

There is no word yet as to the nature of Chaput’s injuries.
