For owner Tracie Stevens of Orleans, Revive your Style is a continuation in a career spent helping people look and feel good, having worked for 23 years as a hairdresser, as well as assistant manager of Maurices for about 3 years. Opening up a second-hand clothing store is something she has been planning for the last two years, getting her inspiration from Plato’s Closet in Williston. The idea is a local women’s clothing store where you can find quality items, at an affordable price. The inventory is all purchased locally.
“Every woman in the world has clothes in their closet that they don’t wear anymore, some are too big, some too small,” Stevens says. “We buy and sell clothes that are gently used, with no stains and no rips, no holes. We like name brand items, but the clothes we buy don’t have to be name brands, and everything is priced accordingly.”
Although they have some items from the 70’s and 80’s, Revive your Style is not a vintage store, and is certainly not a thrift store. They sell a few items on consignment, but only high end items such as prom dresses.
“What I like about our store is that the teens can shop, and since mom is probably paying, she can afford to buy herself something too,” Stevens said.
Although revive your Style opened on September 11, it has taken the last two months to get the inventory and store set up the way Stevens wanted. They have specials going on this week, with two $3 racks.
A $5 donation to Pets of the Kingdom or the food shelves of the local churches, will get you two 50 percent off coupons.
This week they have also been running a “win what you spend drawing,” which had a customer who spent the most money in the store on Tuesday, winning it all back.
Saturday will be the last day of open house week, and they will be giving away a $50 gift card, and two $25 gift cards. All donations on Saturday will be for Warm the Children, where you can bring in hats, scarfs, mittens, and donate them to the local schools.
Revive your Style is open Tuesday through Friday, from 9 – 7, and Saturday from 9 – 4, however, that may change come January.
