COVENTRY — Sometime between 7 p.m. yesterday, and 5:30 a.m. this morning, someone vandalized a local business in Coventry.

Police are saying that the incident took place at Calkins Sand and Gravel, located at 3258 Vermont Rte 14 N.

The Vermont State Police responded this morning to the call that someone had cut one of the conveyor belts on one of the crushing machines located at the mill.

A spokesman for Calkins said that the damage did not disrupt production for more than four hours, and that the machine itself was not damaged, only the conveyor belt, which needed to be repaired.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact S/T Amy Borsari at VSP-Derby Barracks at 802-334-8881.
