GLOVER — A 25-year-old man from Glover is facing more charges after being arrested on July 4 in Brownington for Violation of Conditions of Release, after someone called police to report the sound of a gun shot and a woman screaming in Derby.

At 10:34 a.m., the Vermont State Police, Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Newport Police Department, and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife responded to Hinman Settler Road in Derby, after a call came in that someone heard a female screaming and the sound of a gunshot.

Police are saying that prior to their arrival the male and female left in a vehicle heading towards Brownington, and were stopped on Hinman Settler Road in Brownington.

Henry Ecker-Racz, 25, of Glover, was subsequently arrested and lodged for lack of $5000 bail for Violation of Conditions of Release due to having contact with a female he was not supposed to be near.

Authorities said yesterday that after further investigation and a search of Ecker-Racz’s vehicle, he was cited for Possession and Control of a Regulated Drug, which he didn’t have a prescription for.

He was also issued a ticket for having an inspection sticker on his truck which belonged to another vehicle.
