NEWPORT — What better way to celebrate July 4th and our nation’s independence than a trail run along the shores, and in the woods of Lake Memphremagog? The Harry Corrow Freedom Run will cover the Newport-Derby Bike Path and Memphremagog Ski Touring Foundation Trails.
The race is a celebration of freedom…freedom from asphalt…and freedom to choose the distance you want to cover. You are also free to run or walk.
The race also offers a 10K option, so there’s a run for every level of runner in the mix.
The race starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 5, on the bike path in the pines of Prouty Beach. A light lunch will follow, and walkers are welcome.
This event is run in collaboration with Newport City Parks and Recreation Department and Memphremagog Ski Touring Foundation. Twenty percent of all registration fees will be donated to the Gardner Park Restoration Project and The Memphremagog Ski Touring Foundation.
