COVENTRY — A 22-year-old Coventry man is currently listed in intensive care after his ATV struck a tree on Saturday. The crash happened on Ryder Road in Corinth, at around 6 p.m.

Initial reports of the incident state that Joshua Briere, a resident of Coventry, was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, for serious head injuries.

Witnesses described seeing an ATV going off the roadway and striking a tree.

Briere was taken from the scene of the accident by other ATV riders who fled before police arrived after the crash.

A short time later, EMS crews were called to a residence on Vermont Route 25 in Corinth where it was reported that Briere had been brought.

Troopers learned that Briere was traveling too fast on Ryder Road when he lost control on a curve, causing his 2014 Polaris side-by-side ATV to go off the roadway.

Briere was transported to DHMC for serious head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
