Falmouth man faces charges after crashing into house

FALMOUTH — A vehicle crashed into a residence on East Falmouth Highway early Sunday morning, leading to multiple charges against the driver, according to the Falmouth Police Department.

The incident occurred at 2:35 a.m. when Falmouth Police and Fire Rescue Department responded to 780 East Falmouth Hwy on reports of a crash.

Officers found a vehicle had completely entered the kitchen area of the home.

The residents were unharmed, but the 21-year-old male driver from Falmouth suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Following the investigation, the driver was charged with OUI (Liquor), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, stop sign violation, speeding, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of property damage.

He will appear in Falmouth District Court to face these charges.

The house was previously the scene of a fatal accident in August 2021 when another vehicle operator died.

The Falmouth Police Department commended the coordinated efforts of the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department, the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, the Barnstable County Tech Rescue Team, and Falmouth Inspectional Services for their response and handling of the situation.
