AUBURN — Auburn Police Detectives have arrested a 42-year-old man on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography, following a thorough investigation.

Detectives began their investigation some time ago and gathered substantial evidence through various outlets.

On Thursday, June 20, Auburn Police Detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence in Auburn and an arrest warrant for Wildreen Montano, who resides at the address.

During the afternoon hours, Auburn Police Detectives executed both the search warrant and the arrest warrant.

They were assisted by Massachusetts State Police Troopers from the Internet Crime Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and Cyber Crime Unit.

The state police provided on-site digital evidence examination and a K9 unit trained to detect digital storage devices.

Montano was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

He was held on $10,040 bail and arraigned in Worcester District Court.

Following his arraignment, his bail was reduced to $2,000.

Detectives do not believe that any of the children depicted in the images recovered are from the local community.
