RYEGATE — A vehicle caught fire in Ryegate early this morning.
The incident took place on I-91 north at around 5:30 a.m.
The interstate was reduced to one lane for the safety of commuters and the fire department.
Police say the driver, Matthew Jackson, 36, of Danville, escaped the vehicle without injury.
Ryegate Fire Department extinguished the fire and the vehicle was a total loss.
JTB Towing responded and removed the vehicle.
The right lane was reopened.
