MORGAN — Authorities say a delivery driver suffered a medical event prior to crashing his van on VT-111 in Morgan this afternoon.
Brighton Fire and Newport Ambulance responded to a report of a FedEx van in a ditch with an unresponsive operator.
The vehicle was located partially in the roadway and in contact with a drainage ditch embankment.
The vehicle was stationary in a driveway when the operator was believed to have suffered a medical event, resulting in the vehicle accelerating across the road and hitting the ditch.
The driver was transported to North Country Hospital for medical evaluation.
Trooper Daniel Lynch said he does not think he suffered injuries as a result of the crash.
The roadway was briefly reduced to one lane during this incident.
