Police: Brownington man busted doing burnouts, drunk

ORLEANS — A 37-year-old man from Brownington was arrested today after police say he was caught doing burnouts in his truck while intoxicated.

Just before 1:00 p.m. police say they received complaints of a vehicle seen driving recklessly in Orleans.

One caller reported seeing a silver GMC pickup truck driving down the roadway and doing burnouts in the intersection of Main Street and Railroad Street.

When police arrived in the area, witnesses pointed to the truck which was parked on the corner of Main Street and North Ave.

Troopers spoke with the operator, who was identified as Michael Riendeau, 37, of Brownington.

Police say Riendeau was intoxicated and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and careless and negligent operation.
