Car crashes into tractor-trailer in Irasburg

IRASBURG — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Irasburg on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place on Vermont Route 14 at around 8:45 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer and a Volkswagon Jetta.

According to the report, Sara Hall, 34, of Irasburg, was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle, and crossed into the northbound lane of travel.

Pierre-Alain Bouffard, 38, of Hatley, Quebec, was headed north at the time and tried to go around the Volkswagon, which was now in his lane.

Hall then struck the truck in the right tire and front bumper.

Police say she suffered minor injuries and was treated at North Country Hospital. Her vehicle was totaled.

Bouffard walked away uninjured from the crash.

Traffic was redirected in the area as crews cleared the scene.
