Police looking for vehicle after hit-and-run crash on Main Street in Derby

DERBY — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that took place in Derby this afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m. police responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash on Main Street.

One of the cars involved in the accident did not stop after the collision and fled the scene.

Police are requesting information regarding the vehicle, described as a metallic tan/brown/gray crossover SUV, possibly a Nissan Murano.

Witnesses at the scene were unable to get a license plate number.

Police say the car is believed to have sustained significant front-end damage from the crash, and was last seen traveling north on Vermont Route 105 in Derby.

All hit and runs should be posted here…. my daughter had one on quarry road a month ago by what one would assume an employee pulling out of krb trucking(the trucks parked above barrups garage) a tan GMC with what appeared be a dog box in rear. Sustainable damage, luckily no injuries. All really said by state police”barrups closing don’t want trouble”……
