North Country Hospital earns ACR accreditation

1 min read

NEWPORT — North Country Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce anatomical images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. This means that any facility that earns this designation must undergo an extensive evaluation and has demonstrated that it upholds the highest levels of quality and safety.

The Diagnostic Imaging department at North Country Hospital can add this accreditation to its other ACR accredited services. The department to date has earned the ACR gold seal in Ultrasound, CT Scan, and Mammography.

Receiving the ACR gold seal in MRI reinforces the department’s dedication to its patients by providing the highest quality and safest imaging studies possible.
