Missing St. Johnsbury man found dead

ST. JOHNSBURY — Polce say that they have located the body of a 45-year-old man from St. Johnsbury who has been missing since January 9.

Today, at approximately 12:15 p.m., a body was located off the side of an old logging road east of Breezy Hill Road in St. Johnsbury, by an individual who was walking their dog.

Vermont State Police Detectives and an Assistant Medical Examiner responded to the scene. The victim was later positively identified by family members as Henry “Bucky” Morey.

Police say at this time there is no indication of foul play.   

As first reported, Morey was last seen on January 9, near 48 Eastern Avenue in the Village of St. Johnsbury.

Police say the investigation continues pending autopsy results, and they are seeking assistance from the public.
