NORTH TROY — A police chase through the Village of North Troy on Friday ended with an 18-year-old man facing charges.

Police say that Noah Stemarie, 18, of North Troy, will face charges for attempting to elude, and resisting arrest, following an incident that started at around 7:30 p.m.

Police say they attempted to stop Stemarie’s vehicle for a defective vehicle violation on North Pleasant Street.

He did not stop and led police on pursuit through the area. The chase ended at a residence on Vincent Road in North Troy.

Police say Stemarie fled on foot into the residence. He eventually came out and was informed he was under arrest, at which time police say he lunged away and went back into the residence.

He was ultimately arrested, taken into custody and brought to the Derby Barracks.

Stemarie was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Orleans County Court on Tuesday to answer to the charges.
