DUI arrest after head-on collision leaves Irasburg woman seriously injured

IRASBURG — A head-on collision in Irasburg over the weekend left one driver seriously injured, and another arrested for DUI.

The incident happened Sunday night, on Route 58.

Police say that Dylan Fortin, 21, of Jericho, was traveling east in a 2006 Ford F-250, when he crossed the centerline and entered the oncoming lane.

Fortin drove head-on into another vehicle, being driven by Chasity Cote, 41, of Irasburg.

Cote was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at North County Hospital and later flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

Fortin did not sustain any injuries in the crash.

He performed field sobriety exercises and produced a preliminary breath test of .122. He was placed under arrest for DUI.

There is no word as to the nature of Cote’s injuries at this time.
