HOLLAND — Police are reporting that last week they were notified of some dead goats at a farm in Holland. After an initial investigation the remaining animals at the location were turned over to another farm as the investigation continues, with police saying animal cruelty charges are possible.

Police say that last Friday they, along with representatives from the Department of Agriculture, met with workers at the farm, located on the Prairie Road in Holland.

They determined that there were dead goats on the farm, along with other living animals.

The remaining goats were turned over to another farmer who removed the animals from the property. Some of the goats were in poor health and are currently being cared for.

They say farm workers cooperated with investigators from the Department of Agriculture, and members of the Vermont State Police.

This investigation is being handled as a joint investigation and police say that possible animal cruelty charges are being explored.
